The Avani Institute of Design, based in Kerala, is broadening its engagement with Northeast India by launching the Avani Reach program, aimed at high school and higher secondary students interested in architecture, design, and visual arts. This initiative, set to roll out in 2025, will travel to several cities in the Northeast, including Gangtok, offering students a unique opportunity to explore architecture as a creative and community-driven career choice.
With architecture rapidly gaining popularity among students in Northeast India, Avani’s new program comes at a pivotal time. The Institute, known for its cutting-edge Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) program, is now accepting applications for the 2025–26 academic year. The program, which combines theoretical and practical learning, prepares students to address social, cultural, and ecological challenges through design.
Gangtok, a growing center for education and career-focused initiatives, is poised to benefit significantly from this program. As more students from the region express interest in design-related fields, Avani’s presence will provide them with a reputable academic platform to pursue their ambitions, creating new avenues for talent development in the region.
