Toyota Kirloskar Motor strengthens sustainability strategy amid rising green economy trends

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) continues to integrate sustainability into its long-term economic strategy, reinforcing commitments under the Toyota Environmental Challenge 2050 (TEC 2050). As industries globally shift toward green growth, TKM’s initiatives in water conservation, afforestation, and biodiversity align with evolving regulatory and consumer preferences, enhancing its market resilience.

At its Karnataka facility, TKM employs a ‘4R’ water strategy—Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Recharge—fulfilling 89.3% of its water requirements through rainwater harvesting and recycling. The company’s afforestation efforts, with over 328,000 saplings planted, contribute significantly to carbon sequestration, positioning TKM as a leader in corporate environmental responsibility.

Sharing his thoughts, Mr. B. Padmanabha, Executive Vice President & Director – Manufacturing at Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said,“For us, sustainability is deeply woven into every aspect of our business. Over these 26 remarkable years of our successful operations in India, our journey has always been driven by a commitment to creating lasting value through innovation, corporate responsibility, and meaningful relationships with the communities. Guided by TEC 2050, we integrate pioneering sustainability practices not only in our plant operations but across the entire value chain, driving real change in the society. Our vision is clear—to create a future where sustainability and well-being thrive together, enriching lives, while protecting our planet. We take pride in the impact we have made and remain committed to driving lasting, sustainable change. Our work continues, building a brighter, happier future for all.”
