INDIAWOOD 2026 poised for record expansion as India–EU trade deal boosts furniture manufacturing prospects

INDIAWOOD 2026 is set to return to Bengaluru from February 26 to March 2, with organisers projecting the largest edition in the event’s history amid rising global confidence in India’s woodworking and furniture manufacturing sector. The 26th biennial edition will be held at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre and is organised by NürnbergMesse India, with support from EUMABOIS.

The exhibition will host over 1,000 brands from more than 50 countries, attract over 90,000 industry professionals, and span 85,000 square metres, marking a 15 per cent expansion over the previous edition. The scale reflects India’s growing role in global manufacturing and aligns with the Viksit Bharat vision focused on exports, technology adoption and global integration. Managing Director of NürnbergMesse India Sonia Prashar said the event highlights the industry’s readiness to scale globally, driven by technology, sustainability and skill development.

The advancing India–EU Free Trade Agreement, described by policymakers as the “mother of all deals”, is expected to further strengthen the sector by easing tariffs, boosting exports of engineered wood products, and enabling smoother inflows of advanced machinery.

INDIAWOOD 2026 will showcase automation-led manufacturing, Industry 4.0 solutions, sustainable materials, and compact production systems. The event will also feature Wood+ in Architecture & Design and run alongside the India Mattresstech & Upholstery Supplies Expo, reinforcing an integrated industry ecosystem.
