WEF to Set Up New Fourth Industrial Revolution Centre in Andhra Pradesh

The World Economic Forum (WEF) has announced plans to establish five new Centres for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) across the world, with one of them to be set up in Andhra Pradesh, India. The move aims to strengthen global collaboration on emerging technologies and their responsible use.
With this addition, Indi
a will host three such centres, joining the existing C4IR hubs in Mumbai and Telangana. These centres are part of the WEF’s Fourth Industrial Revolution Network, a global platform that brings together governments, businesses, academia and civil society.
The network focuses on shaping policies and frameworks to ensure that emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, data science and digital infrastructure deliver inclusive benefits while minimising potential risks.
According to WEF, the new centres will help accelerate innovation, support capacity building and promote ethical technology governance. The Andhra Pradesh centre is expected to play a key role in advancing India’s engagement with cutting-edge technologies and strengthening public–private cooperation in the digital economy.
