Fashion and lifestyle consumers witnessed a dramatic and immersive finale as the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour concluded its latest edition on the Hooghly River, against the iconic Howrah Bridge. The showcase featured designer Anamika Khanna’s AK|OK label, with actor Ishaan Khatter as the showstopper, presenting futuristic silhouettes built on reinterpreted zardozi, chikankari and mirror-work. The collaboration with the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) spotlighted how fashion craftsmanship can evolve to suit the tastes of younger, experimental shoppers seeking premium yet meaningful style choices.
The presentation unfolded on a barge transformed into a runway with scaffolding, lasers, smoke and music intensifying audience engagement. Guests boarded The Bengal Paddle vessel beforehand, where the Riverine Museum displayed rare marine artefacts celebrating the Hooghly’s history creating a cultural experience beyond a traditional runway.
Debasree Dasgupta, CMO Pernod Ricard India, said “Future is Crafted” reflects the company’s belief in innovation rooted in heritage. Designer Anamika Khanna and FDCI Chairman Sunil Sethi said that such initiatives can shape the next phase of Indian fashion.
