The SKM youth wing held an interactive youth engagement programme on Wednesday at Saramsa near Ranipool, urging young people to work towards building a “Sunaulo, Samriddha, Samartha Sikkim.” According to a party press release, the event was organised under Chief Minister PS Golay’s direction and led by SKM youth wing president Lakpa Moktan. The programme included discussions on upcoming plans and strategies of the youth wing.
SKM general secretary Arun Upreti, the chief guest, called on youth members to serve with dedication, discipline, and full support for party decisions. Spokesperson Bikash Basnet highlighted government flagship initiatives and the importance of social media for outreach. Jacob Khaling reflected on the party’s early struggles and youth involvement, while vice president Sahadev Sharma criticized the violence under the previous government and praised SKM’s peaceful governance.
Youth general secretary Yougan Rai presented a report on the wing’s activities. Ministers NB Dahal, Raju Basnet, MLAs Aditya Golay, Erung Lepcha, and other leaders also addressed the gathering, as shared by SKM’s social media cell head Navin Dahal.
