The flight, AI 103, was canceled in Vienna. It was supposed to arrive in Washington at 8.45 p.m. on Thursday after taking off at 12.45 a.m. on Wednesday. Flight AI 103 from Delhi to Washington, D.C., stopped in Vienna for a scheduled fuel stop. An Air India spokeswoman stated, “An extended maintenance task was discovered during routine aircraft checks, which required rectification before the next flight and, therefore, additional time for completion.” A number of Air India flights have been canceled recently because of technical issues. A precautionary diversion to Kolkata was made by Air India aircraft AI 357, which was traveling from Japan to Delhi, because of the cabin’s ongoing heated temperatures. The Boeing 787 that was used to execute the Air India flight made a safe landing and is currently being inspected, the airline said. The crew of the flight, AI357, reported the technical problem when it was traveling from Tokyo’s Haneda Airport to New Delhi.
