Governor Holds Discussions With Parliamentary Committee On Transport, Tourism, Culture

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism, and Culture, which is on a five-day official visit to Sikkim, paid a courtesy visit to Governor Om Prakash Mathur at Raj Bhavan today. The team was led by Rajya Sabha MP and committee chairman Sanjay Kumar Jha. The conference focused on thorough discussions about the construction of national roads in the region, with a special emphasis on the status of the recently planned National Highway-210, which would connect Melli and Singtam, according to a Raj Bhawan announcement.

Furthermore, the talks addressed the need to develop Sikkim’s tourist infrastructure, as well as current activities aimed at preserving and promoting the state’s rich indigenous and traditional art, culture, and legacy.

The Governor welcomed the team, wished them a comfortable and successful stay in Sikkim, and expressed confidence that their visit would make a substantial contribution to the State’s inclusive development, infrastructure progress, and cultural enrichment, according to the press release.
