Sikkim will celebrate the 50th anniversary of its statehood with extravagant festivities in May 2025. It is expected that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the state and take part in the festivities to commemorate this historic golden jubilee. The government has made a sincere request in advance of the event for all tourism-related businesses, such as lodging facilities, dining options, homestays, and travel agents, to actively engage in promoting Sikkim’s distinctive hospitality and cultural vibrancy.
These initiatives are scheduled to start on May 13 and run all month long. In addition to honoring the Prime Minister’s anticipated visit, the project seeks to improve the entire traveler experience and strengthen Sikkim’s reputation as a top travel destination. The state government has urged all residents and interested parties to join together in celebration of this significant turning point in Sikkim’s history as a member of the Indian Union.
