JK Tyre powers motorsport milestone in Sikkim with Indian Racing Festival and Mountain Rush Rally

JK Tyre & Industries Ltd., in collaboration with the Government of Sikkim, marked a significant milestone by bringing the Indian Racing Festival to Gangtok as part of the celebrations for 50 years of Sikkim’s statehood. The high-octane grand finale, held at Burtuk Helipad, delivered a visual and sonic spectacle despite heavy rains, drawing large crowds and igniting motorsport enthusiasm in the region. The event featured thrilling stunts on Superbikes, precision drifting in performance cars like Lexus and BMW, and demonstrations of FIA-accredited Indian Formula 4 and stunt-modified vehicles—all running on JK Tyre’s high-performance Levitas Ultra range. Young karting prodigies on Rotax Karts emerged as a major crowd favourite.

Highlighting the evening was the ceremonial flag-off of the JK Tyre Mountain Rush Rally, Sikkim’s first-ever Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) car rally, flagged off by Sikkim DGP Shri Akshay Sachdeva. Spanning four districts from April 23–26, the rally has drawn over 40 entries from across India. Sanjay Sharma, Head-Corporate Communication & Motorsport, JK Tyre said, “As Sikkim celebrates 50 glorious years as a State of India, we are honoured to be part of this iconic milestone by doing what we do best—bringing the adrenaline of motorsport to the majestic hills. At JK Tyre, we salute the state’s unmatched eco-conscious vision and applaud the enthusiasm and precision of its leadership in curating every detail. We’re here to fuel the thrill, amplify the cheer, and wish every participant an unforgettable, action-packed journey ahead.” The rally begins from Ridge Park at 7 AM on April 23 and concludes with a closing ceremony at MG Marg on April 26.
