Rekha Gupta’s swearing-in as Delhi’s chief minister is congratulated by the Sikkim CM

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) returned to power in the nation’s capital after 26 years as Rekha Gupta was sworn in as Chief Minister of Delhi in a lavish ceremony held at Ramlila Maidan. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and a number of high-ranking BJP officials attended the ceremony. As Delhi’s fourth female chief minister, Gupta is unique in that she is the only woman in charge of a state that is presently governed by the BJP.

“Her inspiring vision, coupled with the esteemed guidance of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, will undoubtedly pave the way for a new era of progress and prosperity in Delhi,” said Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, who praised Gupta’s leadership and sent his best wishes. Parvesh Verma (New Delhi), Manjinder Singh Sirsa (Rajouri Garden), Ravindra Kumar Indraj (Bawana), Kapil Mishra (Karawal Nagar), Ashish Sood (Janakpuri), and Pankaj Kumar Singh (Vikaspuri) were among the six cabinet ministers who also took the oath of office alongside Gupta. Verma might be named the Deputy Chief Minister, according to rumors.
