Stanford University’s esteemed 2024 World’s Top 2% Scientists list included Dr. Hari Bhakta Sharma

Stanford University’s esteemed 2024 World’s Top 2% Scientists list includes Dr. Hari Bhakta Sharma (Luitel), who is from Central Martam Village in Bermoik, West Sikkim. His innovative contributions to environmental science research, especially in the field of waste-to-energy technology, have earned him this honor. The sixth edition of the yearly list, which recognizes the world’s best scientists, represents the top 2% of researchers in a variety of fields.

Using information from Elsevier’s Scopus database, the selection procedure is stringent and takes into account established metrics like citations, h-index, and other bibliometric indicators. Solid waste management and the circular economy are two areas of expertise for Dr. Sharma, an IIT Kharagpur Ph.D. graduate in civil engineering. Among his achievements are more than 25 research publications that are SCI-indexed, several book chapters, and editorial positions in international magazines.
