Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s commitment to ‘Skill India’ strengthened with education and empowerment initiatives

On National Education Day, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) reaffirmed its commitment to shaping India’s future workforce by focusing on skill development and innovation in the mobility sector. By integrating cutting-edge automotive technologies into its training programs, TKM is equipping India’s youth with the skills necessary to thrive in a rapidly evolving mobility landscape.

A cornerstone of TKM’s educational initiatives is the Toyota Technical Training Institute (TTTI), which has been empowering young individuals since 2007. With recent expansions increasing its capacity to 1,200 students, including 600 women, TTTI provides a comprehensive three-year residential program focused on automotive manufacturing, integrating hands-on training with advanced technology. TKM also offers the Toyota Kaushalya Program, which combines education with on-the-job training through the “Learn and Earn” model, giving rural youth industry experience while they study.

In the Gangtok, TKM’s initiatives are perfectly aligned with the growing demand for skilled professionals in the automotive and mobility sectors. As Gangtok’s infrastructure develops and new mobility solutions emerge, TKM’s programs offer local youth the opportunity to gain specialized skills, ensuring they are well-prepared for careers in the future of mobility. This will play a key role in the region’s transition towards a more advanced, tech-driven economy. “By investing in skills and innovation, we are empowering youth and building a sustainable future for India,” said G. Shankara, Executive VP of TKM.
