Under the leadership of Sikkim Chief Minister and SKM President Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay), SKM representatives Shri Bikash Basnet and Shri Yougan Tamang participated in a National Democratic Alliance (NDA) media cell coordination meeting at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi.
The meeting, chaired by Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, was attended by notable figures including Union Ministers Shri Piyush Goyal and Shri Rajeev Ranjan Singh, MoS Arjun Ram Meghwal, BJP National Media Incharge Anil Baluni, Dr. Sanjay Mayukh, Spokesperson Shri Sambit Patra, Shri Rajeev Psd Rudy, and MP Shri Raju Bista. The gathering included spokespersons and representatives from various NDA alliance parties.
The primary focus of the meeting was to discuss the Union Budget for 2024-25, which was presented to Parliament on the same day. The agenda included addressing queries from NDA members regarding the budget’s provisions.
Representing Chief Minister Tamang, the SKM representatives expressed their gratitude to Finance Minister Sitharaman for the central assistance allocated to Sikkim in response to the recent Teesta floods. The Sikkim Krantikari Morcha extended congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Sitharaman for the comprehensive Union Budget and acknowledged the special mention of Sikkim in the budget announcement.
