The Northeast Football Development Council (NEFDC) has announced its new executive leadership during the Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) held in Guwahati. Menla Ethenpa, the esteemed President of the Sikkim Football Association, has been elected as the Senior Vice President of the council. Leading the charge as the new President of NEFDC is Tete Hmar, who serves as both President of the Mizoram Football Association and Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare for the Government of Mizoram. Kipa Ajay, Secretary of the Arunachal Pradesh Football Association, assumes the role of Secretary General.
The AGM deliberated on pivotal facets of football development in the Northeast, highlighting initiatives such as the promotion of Dr. T Aao and the inauguration of the North East Champion League. The council underscored the imperative of cohesive collaboration among its member associations.
Representing the Sikkim Football Association at the gathering, Ethenpa reaffirmed the council’s unwavering commitment to advancing football across the Northeast. He remarked, “We are resolute in our mission to foster comprehensive football development across the Northeast and eagerly anticipate productive collaborations to achieve this collective ambition.”
