Sikkim’s political landscape witnessed a significant upheaval as the state prepares for the swearing-in ceremony of Chief Minister designate Prem Singh Tamang, with the exclusion of five senior ministers from the new cabinet. The dropped ministers are B.S. Panth, Loknath Sharma, Sanjeet Kharel, L.B. Das, and M.N. Sherpa.
This move, orchestrated by Tamang’s Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) party, marks a notable reshuffle in the state’s political dynamics. As the SKM gears up to assume power and form the new government, the decision to exclude these seasoned ministers signals a shift in leadership priorities and strategies.
The swearing-in ceremony, slated to take place at Paljor Stadium, holds immense significance as Governor Lakshman Acharya is set to administer the oath of office and secrecy to the incoming ministers. This event marks the formal transition of power and the commencement of a new chapter in Sikkim’s governance.
