The Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) took decisive action on Monday by expelling three leaders, including former minister Karma Loden Bhutia, from the party for engaging in anti-party activities, as confirmed by a party official. Acting on the instructions of SKM chief Prem Singh Tamang, party General Secretary (HQs) Pawan Gurung issued the expulsion letter to Bhutia, along with Durga Prasad Pradhan (Vice President, Culture Wing), and Avinash Yakha (General Secretary, Press and Media, Youth Wing).
Their expulsion from the party, effective immediately, comes as a consequence of their involvement in activities deemed detrimental to the party’s interests. Pawan Gurung emphasized that their positions and primary membership within the party would be considered null and void henceforth.
This stern action by the SKM leadership follows their resounding victory in the recent Sikkim Assembly elections, where the party secured a landslide win, triumphing in 31 out of the 32 seats contested.
