The Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram-Uttarbanga organized its 14th collective marriage ceremony, uniting 108 couples from tribal communities. The joyous event took place at the Birsa Sishu Shiksha Kendra in Salbari, Siliguri, highlighting the organization’s commitment to the welfare and development of tribal societies.
The esteemed presence of the Honorable Governor of Sikkim, Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya, graced the occasion, adding a touch of honor and encouragement. Governor Acharya, in his address, offered his blessings to the newlywed couples and underscored the significance of such initiatives in fostering social cohesion and preserving the cultural heritage of tribal communities.
