The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has granted approval for Greenko Energies Private Limited to acquire additional shares in Sikkim Urja Limited, formerly known as Teesta Urja Limited.
Greenko Energies, a domestically incorporated limited liability company, is an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Greenko Mauritius. Greenko Mauritius, in turn, is wholly-owned by Greenko Energy Holdings (GEH), a Mauritius-based investment holding company overseeing the Greenko group’s interests in India’s power generation sector.
Sikkim Urja Limited operates as a special purpose vehicle dedicated to implementing the 1200 Mega Watt (MW) hydroelectric power project in North Sikkim, India, comprising six units of 200 MW each.
