In celebration of the 65th Raising Day of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), Project Swastik orchestrated a series of exhilarating events highlighting the organization’s steadfast commitment to excellence and community engagement. Against the breathtaking backdrop of North Sikkim’s landscapes, a spectacular bike rally took center stage, featuring nine skilled bikers navigating through some of the region’s most challenging terrain. Starting from the iconic Rangma range, the route traversed picturesque locales including Lachen, Zeema, Donkhyala Pass, and Lachung before concluding back at the Rangma range. The rally not only celebrated BRO’s legacy of connectivity but also showcased the exceptional skills of its personnel in conquering diverse terrains.
Pipen of Lachen flagged off the bike rally from Rangma range in the presence of various civil society members. Along the route to Donkyal pass and Lachung, the brave riders of Project Swastik received warm receptions at Lachen, Thangu, Shivmandir, and Lachung. The rally served as a platform to spread awareness among the people of North Sikkim about BRO’s initiatives and actions to restore connectivity in the region expeditiously.
Meanwhile, in the vibrant city of Gangtok, a lively walkathon captivated participants from all walks of life. Led by Chief Engineer and attended by over 300 BRO personnel, the walkathon covered a distance of 2.5 kilometers, commencing at the plant nursery between Tashi View Point and Ganesh Tok, and culminating at Tashi View Point. Enthusiastic participants, fueled by determination and camaraderie, embodied the spirit of BRO’s mission to foster unity and progress.
