Sikkim’s Chief Minister, Prem Singh Tamang, made a resolute declaration on April 25, reaffirming India’s sovereignty over Sikkim amidst ongoing territorial disputes with China. Tamang’s statement came as he embarked on what he termed a “religious visit” to Dharamsala in Himachal Pradesh.
Upon his arrival, addressing the media, CM Tamang emphasized the spiritual significance of his journey, stating, “This is a religious visit. I am here for the ‘darshan’ of His Holiness the Dalai Lama,” during his visit to Kangra.
Asserting Sikkim’s integral status within India, Tamang remarked, “Sikkim is an integral part of India. They (China) can claim whatever they want. We are a part of the vast country of India. If they (China) make false claims, so what? There is no truth in it…”
