MG Motor India said on Thursday it has partnered with the Epsilon Group for EV charging solutions and battery recycling.
As part of collaboration, the automaker has signed a MoU with two subsidiaries of Epsilon Group – Power EV, for charging solutions, and LICO, for battery recycling and second-life expertise.
As per the agreement, Power EV will provide custom charging technology to develop AC and DC charging solutions for MG’s EVs.
MG Motor India said in a statement that – through active participation in the MG Charge initiative – deploying 1,000 charging points over 1,000 days within residential communities and apartments across India – Power EV aims to expand the availability of AC chargers and to provide high-speed charging to customers across the country. It aims to strengthen the existing public charging network by introducing efficient DC charging options.
It said that LICO will support MG Motor India in its great Producer liability obligations by supplying comprehensive battery recycling and document services.
MG Motor India Chief Growth Officer Gaurav Gupta said that “Our collaboration with Epsilon Group symbolizes a strategic alliance that aims to realize this vision through an efficient charging infrastructure that provides second-life and end-of-life solutions for batteries through supporting and complementing a circular economy”.
