Gangtok witnessed a pivotal moment as Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, flanked by key electoral candidates, spearheaded a crucial coordination meeting with the business community at a local hotel. In his address, CM Tamang emphasized the prevailing pro-incumbency sentiment, showcasing the transformative strides undertaken by the SKM government. He underscored the administration’s unwavering dedication to propelling development and extending vital support to the people of Gangtok and Sikkim at large.
“Previously, the people of Gangtok lacked essential government assistance. However, since taking office, we’ve diligently provided various amenities, from cookers to water filters, and even facilitated housing for those in need,” CM Tamang affirmed. In light of the festive spirit, Tamang denounced the previous government’s misguided social media post advocating a boycott of Holi, India’s revered national festival. He reaffirmed his commitment to embracing and celebrating Sikkim’s rich culture, highlighting his active participation in local festivities.
Turning to economic empowerment, CM Tamang reiterated his pledge to cultivate a conducive environment for business growth. “We prioritize the welfare of Sikkim’s businessmen, ensuring they not only thrive but also significantly contribute to the state’s progress,” he stated, citing the government’s efforts to address their concerns and provide tangible support. Directly addressing the gathered businessmen, Tamang reassured them of the government’s unwavering support, pointing to its track record of fulfilling promises and championing their cause. “We have always listened to your demands and acted upon them, fostering a symbiotic relationship aimed at advancing Sikkim’s economic landscape,” he assured.
