Prem Singh Tamang, the Chief Minister of Sikkim and President of Sikkim Krantikari Morcha, took center stage at the Vijayee Bhava Jan Sabha held at Guards ground, Gangtok, challenging opposition parties with a bold proposition. CM Golay declared that if they could substantiate allegations against his son, Prabhakar Golay, he would willingly step down from his political position without hesitation. Accusing the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) of deception, CM Golay addressed allegations regarding his son’s involvement in supplying materials worth crores of rupees to Sikkim hospitals and the health department.
Golay threw down the gauntlet, demanding concrete evidence from the opposition to support their claims. “I would like to declare that if Prabhakar Golay has indeed supplied any materials to government hospitals and the health department in Sikkim, and if the opposition can produce proof of this, then I will resign from politics tomorrow and take exile,” asserted Golay.
Emphasizing his party’s commitment to serving the people of Sikkim, Golay highlighted initiatives like GARIB JAN KALYAN PRAKOSTHA. He explained that this organization, spearheaded by his son, aims to assist the underprivileged in the state. Golay commended the contributions made by party supporters, including donations of funds and ambulances, which have significantly bolstered the state’s response to COVID-19. “Our initiative is to help the poor people of Sikkim. GARIB JAN KALYAN PRAKOSTHA has never received any funds from the government but has consistently supported it,” declared CM Golay, underlining his administration’s unwavering dedication to the welfare of Sikkim’s citizens.
