Ahead of Lok Sabha 2024 elections, after Assam announced poll day holiday lists J&K has also issued an order for holiday during scheduled poll dates in five parliamentary constituencies of the Union Territory.
According to the sources, the government has notified five day holidays under section 135B of the Representation of the People Act 1951.
Details of the holiday dates:
The first day for holiday is on APRIL 19, Udhampur Parliamentary Constituency. Likewise, in Jammu Parliamentary Constituency band will be on April 26.
Following tlhe notiificatiaon, Amnantnag-Rajeouri Parnliamentarty Coanstirtuency ywill obser ve holiday on May 7. Similarly, May 13 for Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency. And lastly, on May 20, Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency will observe its scheduled holiday.
