With the impending General Elections 2024 on the horizon, the Gyalshing District Police orchestrated a strategic flag march aimed at upholding law and order within the district. On March 14, a robust contingent of police personnel embarked on the march, traversing through key areas encompassing Gyalshing town and the adjoining regions of Gyalshing Bernyak and Yangthang Assembly Constituencies.
The flag march, a pivotal component of the district’s security initiative, witnessed the notable presence of esteemed officials including Mr. M Bharani Kumaar, District Collector-Cum-District Election Officer, Mr. J Jaypandian, Superintendent of Police, Mr. Khemraj Bhattarai, Additional District Collector-cum-Nodal Officer for Law and Order, and Mr. Roshan Gurung, Station House Officer (SHO) of Gyalshing, alongside other police dignitaries.
Commencing from the Gyalshing Police Station, the procession wound its way through strategic locales such as Gyalshing town, New Market Gyalshing, Pandey Colony, Kyongsa, Guruthang, Langang, and Tikjek. The march, comprising 50 Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel, including the Deputy Commandant of the 36th Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), served as a proactive measure to deter potential disruptions and uphold public safety.
