In a groundbreaking initiative aimed at empowering girl children in Sikkim, Dr. Dilip Kumar Jaiswal, the Incharge of Sikkim BJP, revealed a transformative agenda set to be enshrined in the party’s manifesto for the forthcoming state assembly elections in 2024. The flagship program pledges to revolutionize the landscape of opportunities for girls in Sikkim by offering a suite of empowering benefits. Upon the birth of a girl child, the BJP vows to deposit Rs. 50,000 into a fixed deposit account, laying the foundation for her financial security from the outset. Furthermore, upon completion of class 12 examinations, eligible girls will be presented with scooters and laptops, symbolizing both mobility and access to educational resources crucial for their growth and independence.
Dr. Jaiswal underscored the significance of this initiative in fostering women’s empowerment and ensuring that every girl child can chart her own path to success without being reliant on external support. He emphasized the importance of providing avenues for girls to pursue higher education and carve out fulfilling career paths.
In addition to the financial and material support, the BJP’s vision encompasses a holistic approach to nurturing the potential of Sikkim’s future generations, particularly its girls. By equipping them with the tools and resources necessary to thrive academically and professionally, the party aims to catalyze a paradigm shift in societal attitudes towards gender equality and female empowerment.
