A video-clip of a tutor proposing to his colleague during a live class has sparked shock and amusement in equal measure.
Navneet Tiwari, a math tutor at Adda247, was captured while proposing to “Sona Ma’am” aka Sona Sharma during a special livestream earlier this month.
The livestream, titled “Biggest Surprise Reveal” shows Navneet Tiwari revealing his love for Sona Ma’am, who at the start seems unaware by his public declaration.
“I hope for your support in not just my professional life but personal as well. Support me forever,” Tiwari was heard saying during the livestream. “I don’t know what’s wrong or right. I don’t even want to say something like ‘I like you’ or ‘I love you’. I just want to ask you Sona ma’am will you marry me?” he asked his colleague.
Sona Sharma responded to the unexpected proposal by saying that she never imagined it to happen during a livestream. However, she accepted her colleague’s proposal at the first go.
“With all my heart, it’s a yes,” she responded.
The video-clip of the proposal made it to X from YouTube. On the Elon Musk-owned social media platform, it has achieved over 6 lakh views and hundreds of comments with a mix reaction. On the one side the video has outraged to some whereas on the other side, it amused to some and few calling it a publicity stunt.
“I don’t know who this man is but this is really shameful, inhuman and harassment. He deliberately proposed that girl during the live stream to put pressure on her. And you can see how uncomfortable she was,” one commenter wrote.
“This could have happened off camera too,” said another.
