Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang unveiled a significant initiative on February 29 aimed at tackling youth unemployment in the state. Tamang revealed that the eagerly awaited Yuva Bharosa Sammelan 2.0 is slated to convene on March 7, 2024, at the Rangpo playground. Aptly named “Bharosa,” which translates to trust, the event underscores the government’s unwavering faith in Sikkim’s youth and its steadfast commitment to their well-being. The Yuva Bharosa Sammelan will serve as a pivotal platform for the distribution of memoranda, with an estimated 11,000 youths poised to receive fresh job orders. Notably, a notification has been issued for the inclusion of 1,100 Office Assistants into the LDC cadre, alongside the dispensation of regular job orders.
Emphasizing the government’s resolve to honor its commitments, Tamang expressed satisfaction in fulfilling promises made to the people of Sikkim. He reiterated the government’s assurance to regularize the jobs of individuals completing four years of service by December 31, 2023, a pledge that has now come to fruition.
Addressing skepticism from certain quarters, including opposition voices casting doubt on the government’s motives, Tamang reaffirmed the transparency and integrity of the SKM government’s endeavors. He pointed to the issuance of notifications on February 9, 2024, and the creation of 26,218 job posts on February 20, 2024, as tangible evidence of the government’s unwavering commitment to youth employment.
