In a collaborative effort to enhance mathematical prowess among educators, the Vedic Maths Forum India joined hands with the Samagra Shiksha, Education Department, Govt. of Sikkim, to host a transformative Vedic Maths Workshop. The event, conducted from 12th to 14th February 2024 at the prestigious Sir Tashi Namgyal Senior Secondary School, garnered substantial participation from enthusiastic teachers representing various schools across the region.
The workshop served as a dynamic platform for educators to delve into the intricate realm of Vedic Mathematics, an ancient system renowned for its efficiency in mental arithmetic. Through a blend of interactive sessions, hands-on activities, instructional videos, and expert guidance, teachers were equipped with innovative techniques to tackle mathematical challenges swiftly and accurately. Mr. Gaurav Tekriwal, President of the Vedic Maths Forum India, hailed the collaboration as a milestone in disseminating the benefits of Vedic Mathematics. He remarked, “We are delighted to partner with the Samagra Shiksha, Education Department, Govt. of Sikkim, in introducing the transformative potential of Vedic Maths to educators in this region. The workshop curriculum encompassed a diverse array of topics, spanning from fundamental arithmetic to complex calculations involving squares, cubes, percentages, and fractions. Participants were introduced to ancient mathematical sutras (formulae) designed to simplify intricate operations and foster a deeper comprehension of numerical concepts. Smt. Tseringkee Chingapa, CEO of the Gangtok District Education Department, lauded the incorporation of Vedic Maths techniques, envisioning a future where mathematics becomes not only intriguing but also accessible to students and educators alike across the diverse districts of Sikkim.
