After scoring a century in the Rajkot Test, Yasswi Jaiswal suffered back strain. Because of that he was forced to leave the field. Yasaswi later came back and scored a double hundred. However, he was not willing to leave the field with a back injury. India’s young opener said this after the Rajkot test.
Yasaswi remained unbeaten with 214 runs. But when he reached 105 runs, back pain started. Because of that injury, Yassavi was forced to leave the field. He said, “Test cricket is very tough. So I want to give 100 per cent as long as I am at the crease. I didn’t want to leave the field. But the pain was severe. I didn’t know what state the team would be in the next day. A lot was going on in my head. But when I get back on the field, give myself time to settle into the crease, it feels good.”
Yasswi hit James Anderson for three consecutive sixes in between his double hundred. He is the highest scorer in the World Test Championship so far. Yasaswi, who scored 861 runs, said, “After settling down in the cricket, I felt like I could score runs. I had a plan. I played accordingly. That’s what runs came. But really, that back pain was severe.”
