Chamling warns against SKM’s alleged vote-buying tactics

Addressing a public gathering in Makha, Pawan Chamling, the leader of the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF), condemned the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM), accusing them of attempting to manipulate voters by offering monetary incentives. He cautioned Sikkim’s populace against being swayed by such tactics and urged them to prioritize the state’s long-term welfare over short-term gains.

Chamling highlighted discrepancies in this year’s budget, particularly the lack of adequate funds for essential schemes like Aama Yojana, questioning the SKM’s dedication to the people’s welfare. He emphasized the importance of the upcoming election in safeguarding Sikkim’s future and urged voters to reject what he portrayed as SKM’s disrespectful portrayal of them as commodities.

Asserting confidence in the SDF’s ability to secure victory in all 32 seats, Chamling dismissed SKM’s claims of sweeping success as unfounded. He pledged to continue the progress under SDF leadership and emphasized the party’s inclusion of new and educated politicians.
