Sikkim MP urges centre for Lachen connectivity fix, mees Rajnath Singh

in Sikkim , for over four months, Lachen has remained isolated from the outside world, cut off from essential road links due to the aftermath of a Glacial Lake Outburst Flood (GLOF). Amidst this backdrop of hardship, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Hishey Lachungpa has emerged as a beacon of hope for the residents of Lachen. With determination, Lachungpa has taken it upon himself to champion the cause of connectivity restoration, rallying support from the highest echelons of power in New Delhi.

In an appeal to Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Lachungpa lays bare the challenges faced by the people of Lachen and the Indian Army stationed in the region. The impassioned plea underscores the urgent need for action to alleviate the suffering of those stranded in this remote corner of the country. Highlighting the slow progress made by the Border Roads Organization (BRO) in restoring the vital National Highway from Chungthang to Lachen, Lachungpa calls for a renewed sense of purpose and urgency. With Lachen remaining cut off despite the passage of time, the need for expeditious intervention has never been more apparent.

Singh’s pledge to prioritize the issue sends a clear message of solidarity and support to the beleaguered residents of Lachen. As the saga unfolds, the collaborative efforts of government authorities, local representatives, and concerned citizens are poised to turn the tide in favor of Lachen. With determination and perseverance as their guiding lights, they stand united in their quest to bridge the gap and restore connectivity to this remote Himalayan enclave.
