Ramutsav Committee of Sikkim pleaded State Government for declaring holiday on Consecration Day of Ayodhya’s Ram Temple

The Ramutsav Committee of Sikkim has make a plea to the State Government to declare 22nd January 2024 a public holiday in privilege of the Ram Temple Consecration Ceremony day which is scheduled to take place in Ayodhya. This follows the paradigm set by the Government of Maharashtra, which has already declared 22nd January as a public holiday.

The committee has also extended invitations to 16 Special Representatives from Sikkim to participate in the said grand ceremony. Stating the importance of the Consecration Day, Niren Bhandari the Head of the Shri Ram Mandir Darshan Program of Tadong Durga Mandir said, We are aware that our Chief Minister is also a devoted Ram Devotee. Following the significance of this occasion, we hope that respecting the sentiments of Ram Devotees in Sikkim, our Chief Minister can declare 22nd January as a public holiday.

The appeal comes as a call to unite Ram Bhakts across the state with the Samiti encouraging people from Tadong, Gangtok, Ranipur and beyond to join the rally. Let us come together to celebrate this historic event and making it a memorable day for all Ram devotees in Sikkim, urged Bhandari. He stated the significance of the day, stating that, for the first time in 500 years, we have the opportunity to raise the flag of Lord Ram. This is a momentous occasion that deserves recognition and celebration by all of us.
